Frequently Asked Questions

  • All sessions are via Google Meet. I work with parents in the UK and internationally — your location is never a barrier. You'll receive a link when you book your session.

  • Absolutely not. Many children are awaiting assessment or have never been formally diagnosed. If you believe your child is neurodiverse — or if something just feels different and you're not sure where to turn — you're in the right place.

  • No. Coaching is a forward-focused thinking partnership — it's about clarity, action and empowerment. We look at where you are now, where you want to be, and what practical steps will get you there. If you need therapeutic support, I'll always encourage you to access it and can help you think about where to look.

  • Most coaching services offer either lived parenting experience or professional education knowledge. I offer both — 20 years as a senior school leader and the experience of raising a neurodiverse daughter myself. I know what happens in those meetings from both sides. That means I can give you insider knowledge, not just emotional support.

  • Life with a neurodiverse child is wonderfully unpredictable. I understand that completely. I ask for 48 hours' notice where possible, but I'll always try to find a solution. Full details are in our coaching agreement, which you'll receive before we begin.

  • They might be. Gestalt Language Processors acquire language in chunks, scripts and borrowed phrases rather than single words — it's a different but completely valid language acquisition style. Many autistic children are GLPs, and understanding this can completely reframe how you support your child's communication. It's something I have personal and professional experience with, and it's woven into the Finding Your Voice Together programme and the personalised social stories service.

  • Absolutely — and I'd say especially so. My daughter was preverbal, and I've worked with many families navigating the same journey. The Finding Your Voice Together programme was created specifically for you. There is so much that is possible, and you are not alone in this.

  • I join your school meeting remotely via whatever video platform the school uses — Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet. You simply add me as a participant when you set up or accept the meeting invitation. I'm visible to everyone in the room as your support person. Schools cannot refuse a parent's right to bring a support person to a meeting.

  • There's no age limit. I work with families of children from early years through to secondary school age and beyond. The strategies and approaches differ based on your child's developmental stage, but the core of what I offer — helping you understand your child and advocate effectively — applies at every age.

  • Yes. All sessions are online and I work with families internationally. Advocacy systems differ by country, so I'll tailor our work to your specific context. Education and communication strategies for neurodiverse children are universal.
